Article III : Membership.
    There shall be Three Estates of Membership: Companionship,
    Administration, and Ecclesiastic.

  1. The First Estate -- Companionship.
    1. A Companion of the Order is a person accepted into a Shire.
    2. A Lord is one who has been granted an Award of Arms, and may
      serve in any office of a Shire, other than Seneschal.
    3. A Squire is one accepted as the student of a Knight.
    4. A Knight of the Round Table is one accepted into the Chivalry.

    There are two types of Round Table Knights:

    a. A Knight-Errant is a person honored with Chivalry, who
    is not bound by the Laws and Canon of the Order, and who may not advance
    within the Hierarchy; and
    b. A Knight-Questor is a person accepted into the Chivalry,
    who is bound by the Laws and Canon of the Order, and who may advance within the Hierarchy.

  2. The Second Estate-- Administration.
    1. City Administration.

      a. A Mayor is the Lord appointed as ruler of a City.

    2. Shire Administration.

      a.A Seneschal is the Knight appointed as ruler of a Shire and coordinator of the Shire's Mayors.

      b. A Minstrel is one who is accepted by the Royal College
      of Minstrels, and is appointed as lore keeper of a Shire.

      c. A Herald is one who is accepted by the Royal College of
      Heralds, and is appointed as arms keeper of a shire.

      d. A Warden is one appointed as an officer of a Chapel.

      e. Other officers may be appointed, at the Seneschal's
      discretion.

    3. Realm Administration.

      a. The Duke is the Realm's appointed leader (see III:C:2)

      b. The Earl Seneschal is one appointed by a Realm's Duke as
      the chief coordinator of the Realm's Seneschals.

      c. The Earl Minstrel is one appointed by the Royal College
      of Minstrels as the chief coordinator of the Realm's Minstrels, and as
      Chief of the Local College of Minstrels.

      d. The Earl Herald is one appointed by the Royal College of
      Arms as chief coordinator of the Realm's Heralds, as well as Chief of
      the Local College of Arms.

      e. Other officers may be appointed, at the Duke's
      discretion.

    4. Order Administration.

      a. The Pendragon is the elected leader of the Order (See
      III:C:3).

      b. The King Seneschal is the chief coordinator of the Earl
      Seneschals.

      c. The King Minstrel is the chief coordinator of the Earl
      Minstrels, as well as the Chief of the Royal College of Minstrels.

      d. The King Herald is the chief coordinator of the Earl
      Heralds, as well as Chief of the Royal College of Arms.

      e. Other officers may be appointed, at the Pendragon's
      discretion.

  3. The Third Estate -- Ecclesiastic.
    1. A Knight-Chaplain is a Knight consecrated as a Priest of the
      Grail, who is chief celebrant of a Chapel.
    2. ADuke is the appointed ruler of a Realm, who is consecrated
      as High Priest of the Grail.
    3. The Pendragon is the elected leader of the Order, who is
      consecrated as King Priest of the Grail, and is also known by the titles
      Chief Dragon and Draco Rex.

  4. Other Divisions.
    1. The Royal College of Minstrels is a collection of all Minstrels of the Order, led by the King Minstrel, and bound by the Articles of the Royal College of Minstrels.
    2. The Royal College of Arms is a collection of all Heralds of the Order, led by the King Herald, and bound by the Articles of the Royal College of Arms.
